VTLW USA chooses Metus

VTLW has decided and purchased Metus Ingest and MAM solutions.

VTLW / First Coast News, is the NBC afilliate and one of the prominent and oldest TV channels of Florida, located in Jacksonville.      It has a reputation for being a pioneer in the broadcasting industry, such as,  being the first TV channel designed for color broadcasting, having made the first live broadcast from of a rocket launch from Cape Canaveral,  being the first TV channel redesigned for digital broadcast. First Coast News is owned by Gannett Broadcasting which consists of 22 television stations covering 17.3% of the USA. In addition to its broadcast operations, Gannett publishes 74 daily newspapers including USA Today and USA Weekend, and is the USA's largest newspaper group in terms of circulation. First Coast News currently employs approximately 185 men and women in the areas of news, engineering, production , promotion, accounting, sales, programming and administrative support. First Coast News' commitment to the First Coast is to provide the most comprehensive news, information, programming and community service available. 


After a lengthy evaluation phase, VTLW has decided and purchased Metus Ingest and MAM solutions. WTLW. They have now total 6 channel Metus ingest systems and MAM with 50 TB storage for their production and master control playout systems, with 10 client license. The system allows them to preview, transcode, trim - join all files including MXF, P2 and other generic formats that they use. Once the capturing is completed with Metus ingest, files are going into pre defined folders in the MAM and the system automatically generates proxy, thumbnail as well as storyboard. With the built in preview window, NLE editors can retrieve in - out points to local computers to do editing. Completed files are saved in drop box folders and Metus MAM is importing them to archive with desired settings.

Metus also delivered the MAM API in order make integration between Miranda Playout systems for master control and production. All files are now accessible by playout servers through Metus MAM.
